Question and answer session #1: Fitness! Getting in shape for cosplay!
September 26th, 2008
“so aside from Miyu being perfect, does she have any workout tips to
make us humble normal humans look nearly as gorgeous/fit as she does?
:P”
- Ivey (http://iveyew.livejournal.com/profile)
First off, thank you so much for the wonderful compliment! I really appreciate that! I assure you that I’m far from perfect, but I’d be happy to tell what I know about diet and exercise. :}
I got my figure to look the way it does the good old fashioned way: by working out a buttload and sticking to a healthy diet! I keep my physique intact by eating the right foods, counting calories, reading labels, and generally just being aware of what I put into my body. I also work out at least three times a week.

Project Cosplay at Nisei Week 2008!
August 19th, 2008
Nisei week is a cultural event that has been held every year in Downtown Los Angeles for the last 68 years. In the last few, they have added cosplay to the list of events including Kendo, Martial Arts and Sumo demonstrations. At 5pm on the Sunday of the week long event there is also a parade that runs around the expanse of Little Tokyo which also happily invites cosplayers to join and greet the crowd.
Project Cosplayers JoEllen, Diana, Vani and Jim were in attendence to support their fellow LA cosplayers and (in JoEllen’s case) eat every Japanese delicacy she came into contact with.
This year’s cosplay contest also marked the first time Project Cosplayer Jim competed as a solo entry. He brought his crowd pleasingly creepy 12th Division Captain Kurotsuchi Mayuri and won over not only the atendees but snagged a Judges award as well! Congradulations Jim!
While JoEllen and Vani kept morale up against the heat with shaved ice and cool drinks, Diana debued a new costume- Hakufu from Ikkitousen. It was based on a figure from one of the plethora of original Ikkitousen toys floating around.
Project Cosplay had a wonderful time and highly reccomend this event for cosplayers looking to have a great time outside of a convention setting! Don’t forget to check out our photo coverage and stay tuned for video from Nise i Week 2008 on our youtube!
‘Till next time!
Comic Con, What’s it all about?
July 29th, 2008

What is it about Comic Con that compels people to spend enormous amounts of cash? Yeah, there are some awesome toys, plenty of good dvds, clothes and of course comics? At the end of day squeezing through 100 people just to get 30 feet ahead I’ve got to say it’s a time to spend with friends. Whether you’re cosplaying together, waiting in a very long line to observe a panel or get your swag on, regardless I feel Comic Con is definitely about enjoy the creative art of film, tv, print and toys with your entourage. After wards hitting up the gaslamp district, the club or just chilling at the hotel looking at the moon lit seashore (for those romantics out there). A Comic Con trip always has a crazy story to tell on the way home. Comic Con 2008 - Photo Gallery
